Community RePaint – A Scout’s Tale

The Furniture Revival operates a Community RePaint scheme, whereby our team collects, reusable leftover paint, and redistributes it to individuals, families, community groups and charities in need. Our scheme aims to improve the wellbeing and appearance of places in the Caerphilly Borough and beyond.

Blaina Scout Group are a fabulous example of how paint can aid a community project. The First Blaina Scout Group inherited a building to undertake their scouting activites and also open the building back up to the public. However, the building was in a state of bad repair following years of neglect, with several rooms were dark and unsuitable for use by the Scout movement. With a donation of paint from The Furniture Revival, the Scout group held a painting evening with their members and have began to turn the building around, with the aim of making it more ward and child friendly. The photographs show members assisting in the painting evening applying a base coat prior to adding top coat and scouting logos. The leader of the Scout group stated that this kind donation ┬áhas helped make progress for the “better of the Scout movement and the local community”. We believe they have done a marvellous job in improving their community hall.
