Several councillors and council officials attended the official opening of our new ‘Pop Up’ shop in Yew Street, Merthyr Tydfil on Wednesday 22nd March.
The opening marks the second warehouse for our expanding community focused social enterprise, which has been supported by Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council’s Meanwhile Use scheme and Merthyr Tydfil Housing Association.
The opening of a shop in Merthyr Tydfil will help to increase access to our services for individuals and families seeking affordable home furnishings, electricals and paints and builds on the success of our larger warehouse operation based in Rhymney.
The new shop supports two new employment roles within the town and is expected to increase access to its services to 250 people per month in line with its aim of “furnishing homes for less”.
Kylie Bell (Business Development Manager, The Furniture Revival) “the new shop is a fantastic hub for people in Merthyr wishing to access our services and buy reusable items locally, and we are pleased have to have two new staff members join our team and aim to increase the amount we reuse to support more people in need of low cost household furniture”.
